Andrew Carswell, Director
Andrew Carswell is a strategic communicator and political adviser with more than 25 years of experience in federal politics, media and crisis management, and journalism.
For the last four years, Andrew was Head of Media and Communications and Press Secretary to Australia's 30th Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
In this role, Andrew was a primary adviser to the Prime Minister, led the Government's media and communications strategy, provided strategic media and political advice to the Prime Minister and cabinet ministers, built key relationships with national editors and media CEOs, and led the creation of policy narrative. In leading the Government's media and communication strategy, Andrew led a team of more than 100 media advisers and creatives across Government.
Prior, Andrew was a senior media adviser and speechwriter for the then Treasurer Scott Morrison, and had spent 19 years in journalism, senior editorial planning and newsroom management, most notably as the Chief of Staff with News Corp Australia's The Daily Telegraph, and as a senior writer across national mastheads.
He led a vibrant and fast-paced newsroom of over 50 journalists, delivering creative content and exclusive news to more than four million readers on multiple platforms, amid a relentless 24-hour news cycle. At his heart Andrew is a storyteller with a passion for creative content, and messages that educate, entertain, and engage, always peppered with emotion and humanity, stirring thought, and a sense of occasion.
Andrew lives in Canberra with his wife Mel and their two adventure-seeking young boys, Olli and Rio.
Kate Williams, Senior Adviser
Kate Williams is a media adviser with 15 years experience working as a broadcast journalist and political adviser.
For five years, Kate worked as a senior media adviser to Australia’s 30th Prime Minister Scott Morrison. During this time, Kate provided media briefings and advice directly to the Prime Minister. She also formed relationships with major media outlets, allowing her to communicate and shape government messaging.
Prior, Kate spent seven years working for Sky News in Sydney as a producer, reporter and presenter. Kate helped lead the network’s coverage of business and finance news, regularly interviewing top ASX 200 CEOs. She also worked in London as a freelance journalist for Al Jazeera.
Kate lives in Brisbane with her husband and two children.
